The primary purpose of this position is to provide varied administrative support services to command customers and to provide support services directly to the Division Chief.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
Serving as the primary administrator for implementation and maintenance of the Government Travel Charge Card (CTCC) Program. Managing ALC Travel Card program primary expert and focal point for the Command. Serving as the liaison between the Command, the Headquarters program manager, and the credit card company. Using policy directives issued by the program manager to advise employees of changes in agency travel policy, including the importance of timely remittance of credit card bills. Gathering information on matters pertinent to inquiries from customers and local program officials and assists when investigation requests are received ensuring that the program is properly administered, monitored and maintained. Managing Government Procured Transportation account and reconciling the monthly card statements. Applying a thorough knowledge of the DHS webTA payroll system and civilian pay and leave administration to solve complex informational problems. Preparing orders for official travel to a wide variety of points regularly involving travel within the Continental United States, Out-Continental United States and travel overseas. Applicants for the GS-08 grade level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Some examples of specialized experience are using government issued purchase cards and relevant regulations; reconciling monthly card statements; preparing travel orders; experience with using time and attendance computer programs and computer software to produce a wide variety of documents.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
