Equipment Specialist (Aircraft), GS-1670-09/11

This position is located in the Industrial Operations Division (IOD), Aviation Logistics Center (ALC), Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The employee serves as the IOD Engineering department's technical representative overseeing prototyping, reverse engineering and manufacturing of aircraft parts and ground support equipment.Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. At the full performance level, GS-11, Typical work assignments include:
Performing numerous tasks in order to manage and oversee manufacturing efforts, prototyping, reverse engineering. Identifying existing and/or potential problem area trends, deficiencies, areas of imbalance and significant accomplishment. Evaluating progress achieved toward meeting program objectives. Developing and submitting reports and/or presents briefings. Performing COR duties; ensuring the work being performed is within the scope and adequate funding is available and the appropriate modifications to the contract are completed prior to the commencement of work. At the GS-9 level, the employee will be assigned less complex work under closer supervision. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE GS-9:
Candidates must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-7 grade level in the Federal service OR must have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher graduate level education in fields related to this p.osition OR LL.B. or J.D., if related. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include working as a skilled mechanic or maintenance worker for aircraft, aircraft sales or service engineer, planner or estimator in a technical group dealing with manufacture, utilization, repair, or operation of aircraft equipment; reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements for aircraft; analyzing aircraft equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements; reading and interpreting engineering change orders, equipment requisitions, shop orders, and work orders; analyzing contract specifications and examining pertinent aircraft equipment if specifications are met; analyzing aircraft maintenance, repair, or production operations to determine methods of improvement. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable. QUALIFICATIONS FOR GS-11:
Applicants for the GS-11 level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position an did typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Serving as a Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) by ensuring the work being performed is within the scope and adequate funding is available; manage and oversee manufacturing efforts, prototyping, reverse engineering; identifying existing and/or potential problem area trends, deficiencies, areas of imbalance and significant accomplishment; background in industrial maintenance practices; quality assurance; Aircraft electronics, avionics, hydraulic, electrical. Candidates may also meet the qualification requirements of the position through completion of a Ph.D., or at least 3 years of graduate-level education towards such a degree, in engineering or technology.COMBINING EDUCATION AND
Experience:
When an applicant has less than one year of specialized experience as described above, he or she may combine successfully completed graduate-level education with experience to meet the total qualification requirements. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
