Visual Information Specialist, GS-1084-09

The primary purpose of the position is to perform and direct selection and design of various elements of visual and electronic products to produce a complete and finished visual information product.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.Typical work assignments include:
Obtaining, analyzing, and organizing physical an electronic information using S1000D specifications, standard reference tools and established techniques and practices. Formulating plans for changes and improvements. Collecting, systemizes, and analyzes material and determines its relevance to the project. Preparing reports, analysis, and other documents related to information and research efforts. Planning presentations, publications, or designs based on factual material. At the GS-09 applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience may include:
planning, designing, producing and coordinating visual, graphic exhibits or presentation materials; advising customers on cost, visual effectiveness, and appropriate media for projects; producing slides, transparencies, photographs, original art work and illustrations, pamphlets, booklets, brochures, and catalogues; frames; using computer graphics to create visual products and integrating information from one software package into another; developing original designs to enhance the subject matter content.Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.ORMaster's or equivalent graduate degreeOR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other field related to the position.ORLL.B. or J.D., if relatedORCombination of specialized experience and graduate level education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.Examples include:
to obtain, analyze, and organize information using standard reference tools and established techniques and practices; as well as the creation, design, development, and production of various visual materials. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
