Aircraft Electrician, WG-2892-10
The primary purpose of the position is to perform aircraft electrician journey level duties and to train others in that trade. Some travel may be required.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard Team.Typical work assignments include:
Maintaining test equipment, tools and HAZMAT.Troubleshooting, modifying, repairing, overhauling and performing final functions and operational tests of complex, electrical systems, components, and accessories.Manufacturing a variety of aircraft specific or specialized breakout boxes and panels to facilitate testing of electrical systems.Training employees and demonstrating or explaining proper techniques, methods of operation, and safety practices. Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired.Ability To Do the Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision(SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT)Knowledge of Electrical EquipmentTheory and Instruments (Electrical, Electronics) Used in Shop and Trade PracticesTechnical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Ability to Use Electrical DrawingsAbility to Use and Maintain Hand Tools (Electrical Work)Trouble shooting (electrical)Applicants must have journey level experience in the electrical trade troubleshooting, modifying, repairing, maintaining and testing complex aircraft electrical systems, components, and accessories with intricate wiring.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
