Logistics Management Specialist, GS-0346-11/12

This position is responsible for identifying specific requirements for support equipment relating to all USCG aircraft and correlate those requirements with program plans to assure needed support is provided at the right time and the right place. Work requires thorough knowledge of the overall supply/logistics management process for system wide supply operations from initial plan through acquisition, funds management, storage, issue and utilization or disposal of property. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments, at the GS-12 level, include:
Determining current and future supply requirements to meet customer needs. Determining the validity of recommended buys and taking necessary action independently. Evaluating inventory control system demand and forecast requirements; approving requirements to rework, purchase parts and committing funds. Managing backorders for critical components; evaluating stock position, on-hand balance and suitability of substitute parts. Managing complex inventory control systems. At the GS-11 level, will receive tailored instruction, guidance, training, and supervision designed to equip the employee with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful performance at the GS-12, full performance level. Supervision will become less progressively detailed as more experience is gained. At the GS-11 level - Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience includes:
coordinating with inventory managers for release of substitutes and to discuss resolution. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Or a combination of experience and education. At the GS-12 Level - Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include:
providing logistics support functions for engineering activities; developing policies, directives, and procedures for managing the logistics program for the command, conducting studies, evaluations, and analyses of the various Integrated Logistic Support program elements such as maintenance, supply, and configuration. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
