This position serves as a COR performing surveillance/inspections and acceptance, monitor activities and cost, provide contractor performance evaluations and notifications to the Contracting Officer, make recommendations for invoices and payments, manage Government furnished property, manage contractor employee access and security through established procedures, and monitors contracts to ensure that the relationship between Government personnel and contractors do not evolve into unauthorized personal services or inherently governmental functions.Being a civilian working for the Coast Guard makes you a valuable team member.Typical duties include:
Identifying the procurement needs and validating the requirements based on the USCG aviation's need through discussions with stakeholders. Ensuring that procurement package documentation is consistent with applicable federal, agency rules, regulations, and internal policies while ensuring the package will support internal or external audits. Developing and preparing procurement request (PR) packages and defining special terms or conditions required under the procurement request, and identifying any special clauses which may be required based upon the type of requirement involved. Monitoring and verifying contractor performance and compliance with the terms, conditions and specifications of the contract/task order. MUST obtain and maintain Contracting Officer Representative (COR) Certification Level III. Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the federal service.Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience includes preparing procurement packages and ensuring they are accurate, complete and timely; monitoring and verifying contractor performance and compliance with terms, conditions and specifications of the contract; and evaluating quality assurance methods and techniques proposed by the contractor.Applicants must obtain and maintain Contracting Officer Representative (COR) Certification Level III.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
