The purpose of this position is to provide clerical support and receive patrons at the Morale, Well-Being Recreation (MWR) facility.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
Receiving patrons and checking eligibility status of patrons to use the MWR facilities. Performing a variety of clerical duties; answering phones, forwarding calls, taking messages, filing materials, and delivering or picking-up mail. Operating cash register and collecting fees for the use of the MWR facilities or activities. Opening and securing the MWR facility and setting up/taking down equipment for events. Assisting in taking inventory for retail and rental items and reporting low stock amounts to the supervisor. Ensuring basic cleanliness of activity areas and equipment. Operating government vehicles. GS-04:
Applicants must have one (1) year of general experience or two (2) years of education above high school. General experience is responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled or a combination of post-high school education and general experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
