Supervisory Contract Specialist, GS-1102-12

You will primarily be responsible for supervising and developing the procurement and administration of contracts for services, goods, transportation, etc. Being a civilian working for the Coast Guard makes you a valuable team member. Typical duties include:
Supervising a geographically dispersed workforce. Serving as the senior contract specialist for the assigned base responsible for all aspects of the contracting transactions from initiation to recommendation of award to procure items or services. Providing guidance in the development of the statement of work and data requirements. Analyzing and evaluating price/cost proposals for new procurements, changes, follow-on procurements, price re-determinations, etc. Addressing difficult contracting issues and identifying alternative courses of action, modifying standard contracting procedures and terms to satisfy specialized requirements, and solves a variety of contracting problems. Must submit unofficial college transcripts to be considered for this position Applicants must meet the following basic requirements:
Completed a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field; OR 24 semester hours in the following fields:
accounting, business, law, finance, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods or organization and management. NOTE:
Applicants in a 1102 position at a GS-12 or lower grade level since January 1, 2000 without a break in service only need to meet the additional requirements in order to qualify. IN ADDITION to meeting the qualifications above, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience performance functions (i.e., pre-award, award, post-award) to procure a variety of supplies, equipment and/or services. NOTE:
The Defense Acquisition University (DAU) does not grant Academic degrees, therefore courses completed at the DAU are not creditable towards meeting the 24 semester hours required above, unless the coursework has been evaluated by an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, and appears on a college or university transcript. National Service Experience (i.e. volunteer experience). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, organizations (e.g. professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical knowledge and skills and can provide valuable translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
