Sheet Metal Worker/Sheet Metal Mechanic (Aircraft) NIGHTSHIFT, WG-3806-08/10

This position's primary purpose is to perform Aircraft Sheet Metal duties, train others in that trade or other trades if skilled, and perform varied tasks in other trades. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
WG-08 Assembling parts by seaming, bolting, screwing, riveting and tacking. Repairing, fabricating, and installing simple aircraft metal structures, parts and units; using metal working tools and equipment. Using measuring instruments with hand-measuring devices to measure plans and patterns; using arithmetic to calculate and scribe patterns. WG-10 Working on prototype or one of a kind objects or systems. Formulating jigs that are likely to be used by others; objects worked on are commonly composed of unusual shapes, unconventional in nature, or represent a new application. Demonstrating or explaining proper techniques, methods of operation, and safety practices. Training employees with lesser skills. Cleaning, lubricating, and maintaining the tools, equipment, and supplies. THIS IS A NIGHT SHIFT POSITION Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired.Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements:
Ability to do the work without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT ELEMENT). Knowledge of Equipment, Structure, Material, etc. (includes constructing, repair, and forging). Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading). Layout and Pattern Development (includes Geometric Projection and Triangulation). Ability to Use Hand Tools, Power Tools, etc. for Metal Work. Dexterity (Assembly Disassembly reassembly). National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
