Logistics Management Specialist, GS-0346-11

The Asset Project Office is responsible for the design and initial management of USCG inventory to include seasonal demands, stock positions material support requirements and long range planning. This position ensures supply support is established and delivered to operational units. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
Supporting acquisitions planning/execution for new Coast Guard procurement projects. Assisting Asset Line and Aviation Division in the development of logistics support strategies and Integrated Logistics Support Plans. Identifying and monitoring accomplishments of organizational roles and responsibilities ensuring short-term and long-term goals and objectives are met. Serving as a Contracting Officer's Technical Representative. Monitoring and reviewing measurement criteria in order to coordinate, track and implement project, and project improvements. Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience includes:
coordinating with inventory managers for release of substitutes and to discuss resolution. OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Or a combination of experience and education. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
