A Kempsville Building Materials (a division of Carter Lumber) Delivery Specialist is responsible for transporting and dropping off materials while providing professional customer service to contractors and do-it-yourselfers. This is accomplished by appropriately using company vehicles and equipment to deliver products to customers in a safe and timely manner. Safety, building loads, inventory control, and product knowledge are all components of this position. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.
Requirements to be Considered for this Position:
Previous delivery experience, preferably with building materials
An acceptable driving record and appropriate licensing
Familiarity with building materials and delivery equipment is desirable
Ability to participate effectively as a team member
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Responsibilities of the Position:
Delivery Activities
Ensures safety of self and others at all times; delivers products to customers on-time; builds loads and checks accuracy;
Assists customers with loading and/or unloading; interacts with customers at the jobsite; ensures proper paperwork processes are followed; provides customer service, is aware of hazards created by a changing job site or roadway conditions.
Portrays a positive representation of his/her company while in the public eye.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
