, a heavy civil construction company, has an immediate opening for an experienced Asphalt Roller Operator.
This is a skilled position whose primary responsibility is to compact asphalt material(s) to the specified finish and density with the use of various sized rollers.
Additionally, the operator with be responsible for ensuring the overall quality of the finished pavement to company standards.
A desired candidate should:
Have a minimum of 2
years of verifiable experience as an Asphalt Roller Operator Operate the roller to distribute, break down, compress and give a finished surface to cooling asphalt Drive machine in successive overlapping passes over surfaces to be compacted, rolling subgrade and asphalt to desired compaction and smoothness Determine speed and direction of machine based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures Assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices during paving operations Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance Perform other duties as assigned Have a valid driver's license (Required) Job Type:
